Those are potential negative impacts that count. Fans misery from a potential bad season is on us. For us this is about entertainment and vicarious pride. There might be some fans whose lives are so miserable they need to find hope outside themselves. The vast majority of us that is not the case. I get it. We’re upset and we want to vent our anger. We want to hurt our perceived transgressor the way he hurts us. It doesn’t make any difference what and how much they’ve done for us in the past. We constantly reset our needs. Indecisiveness is not a trait that is beneficial or positive. The same can be said about incessant neediness. Especially if it’s about abstract and vicarious fulfillment. And worse if it leads us to want payback. Venting is healthy. A forum is a good place to vent. Players, coaches and their relatives should not come here for this reason unless they have the constitution to let negativity directed towards them not impact them. The challenge for us is to learn how to deal with these situations in the best possible way. Repeating ourselves over and over again is not venting. It’s a cry for help. If a situation occurs which negatively impacts the way we feel why do we need to treat it in the same manner as a physical attack? Alex is not the only person needing to figure things out. Regardless of our personal situations any resentment towards Alex regarding what is happening is misplaced. He doesn’t control the levers. Hurley does. Whether Alex can or cannot make a decision Hurley has had the same amount of time to come up with a contingency plan to deal with each scenario. I believe he has. Let’s see what happens in the following weeks.
