Time to get the popcorn.....
True but having the FBI open a file on you isn't a good thing."It also must be emphasized that documents do not necessarily mean the school is involved in any wrongdoing."
Ironic that this is from a Kentucky site.
Agreed. The Squid is worried.I like how the answer to "are you guys gonna get caught in this cheating scandal?" isnt "we don't cheat" but instead "we haven't been contacted by the NCAA or FBI".
No one is completely safe from having their kingdoms come apart. Let's just say it would be prudent for those players that are hitting up the "Caliperi system" for more monies to do so in a non traceable way as well so as not to get caught up in blackmail.I think Cal is smarter than traceable payments at this point - he's probably slipping kids bitcoin
They are actually not, read the article.Kansas is being investigated ? Lawson bros should have stayed in Memphis.
At this point I doubt Kentucky even has to cheat anymore. Kids want to play in the NBA and they see UK players getting drafted every year. That simple.
True. But... it is probably hard for Kentucky to ignore their DNA. Cheating is their default position.
Don't think it says that. It just doesn't say that they are. They are actually not, read the article.
If it were an NCAA thing, this would be an accurate take, but this is an FBI investigation. They don't get tired, or consider something too big and start reducing sentences. They are happy to put 40 folks behind bars if they have the evidence. They don't give a rats ass if this is Kansas or The University of the Incarnate Word. They simply don't care what it does to college basketball. They care about whether crimes were committed or not. I get that at some point the NCAA has to start giving out punishments, but if they FBI whacks a school, the NCAA isn't going to be able to just sweep it under the rug.The more schools (especially "elite" schools) that get tied up in this, the lesser the eventual penalty for Louisville and everyone. If there are 40 schools involved, then it ends up being a "systematic issue" and everyone just gets a slap on the wrist and we move on like nothing happened.

Ongoing criminal investigation. You don't want the FBI going over the details of your organization. Best case scenario, status quo, worst case scenario is your univ. pres. doing a perp walk.It only says that there are some documents related to Kansas in some file, somewhere, that they can't give over because of the ongoing investigation.
Right now it's Schrodinger's investigation. There's no way to tell whether or not they're being investigated, so this story adds no value.
