Really love his confidence and enthusiasm. a few people around here claim to not consider him a part of the uconn family since he was one and done, but he looks like he will be another great young ambassador for our program. He seems like he'll be a frequent visitor on campus and not just because he's from ct.

Looking forward to a big jump in his contributions this year especially if he gets starters minutes.

"Never had supervised weight training"????

methinks Mr. Kander is overblowing his impact. UConn has excellent Strength & Conditioning folks. I'm OK with the intense Program coming up. But, the Pistons are NOT the reason Drummond impacted this year. Andre Drummond is a freak athlete with a WILL to be good.

AD will be as good as his health allows him to be. He has the potential to be much better than Dwight Coward. ;)

When people say that it would be better for player X to stay for another year to develop in the college game, this is all you need to stomp that argument. If someone is an obvious pro player, there is no better place to develop but in professional program where you get 24x7 attention and don't have pesky things like class to go to. He was so much better off going when he did so he could get that kind of attention that is not possible for a college kid.

Remember most college basketball players do minimal weight lifting during the season.

With Andre signing and enrolling at the last minute, and leaving as soon as the season was over, it's not unthinkable that he only did minimal weight lifting while at Uconn.

True, but it does depend on the player and what round they are likely to get picked. Drummond was a "for sure" lottery pick, he is a freak! NBA coaches will give him all the time and development he asks for because they want him. As for Shabazz, Boat and Daniels it's a different story.

I don't think the Pistons have a very high opinion of UConn. I remember reading an article where they mentioned that Drummond didn't know some basic terminology on defense.

I really miss having a quality big man coach. Another reason why it would've been nice to bring in Donyell.
