Seems like Tenn needs to decide on their Future Head Coach sooner rather then later.

Davis is reconsidering her decision because of concern over Summitt's future ability to coach at Tennessee and the impact the uncertainty over the Hall of Fame coach's health is having on the Lady Vols' recruiting, according to her mother, Kendra.

"She's not washing her hands (of Tennessee) or de-committing," Kendra Davis said. "Nobody could have foreseen (Summitt's illness) nor could the effects be foreseen."

this is stunning news for a couple of reasons... first, Tennessee fans have sworn that it ALMOST makes no difference who the HC is - kids will flock to Tennessee because of the history. and second, i'd read a while back some fans felt confident that they were going to land Russell, one of Muvunga/Reimer, Scaife, and maybe they'd take a couple other top 10 or top 20 kids. apparently that may not end up being the case.

even if they name a new HC in the very near future, there's no guarantee top kids will still flock there. that's really devastating news in so many ways. it really gives the impression that no top kids really want to go there. they lost out on Alexis Jones, Bria Smith, Rachel Hollivay, and now their prize recruit from 2013 is reopening her recruitment.

imagine if she looks hard at UCONN.

Sadly, Pat's illness will effect recruitung for the Vols. The question would be will she be there for 4 years and if so how effective she will be if she is. Would be the same for the Huskies if, God forebid, Geno was unsure,due to illness, how long he would be coaching.

Don't think Kaela considered any other schools besides Tenn. She and her family have been friends with Candace Parker and Tenn was her dream school. IMHO she could still end up at Tenn, if Tenn designates their future head coach at the end of the year and that person was acceptable to Kaela and her family. I suspect Kentucky will start to recruit her heavily. Don't see that Kaela would ever consider UConn.

I know one shouldn't go here, and I do believe Pat has earned the right to do whatever she wants this year, but I do wonder if it wouldn't be better for the team for her to step down now. The images of Pat on the sideline are painful to see I think for everyone.

On a side note... its interesting to see players that I watched in college and in the NBA now have girls that are following the same path into big time wcbb. Seen it for years on the men's side.... cool to see it on the women's side.

well if you listen to their fans, ESPN has it in for Pat and there's a conspiracy afoot. they ONLY show Pat when she's on the sidelines looking confused. they NEVER show her coaching the kids, walking the sidelines, or taking an active role in the game. i'm not kidding - they practically had a whole thread on it.

Schools we can expect to go after her hard: everyone in the SEC especially KY, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina; in the ACC, UNC, MD, Duke, Miami; in the BE, Louisville, Rutger, ND. Maybe Baylor, Texas, etc. on the B12. Pretty much everyone who thinks they can get her. But I don't see UConn going after her unless there is a tie in with Diamond.

I dont think UNC has scholarships available... im pretty sure they dont unless a few people transfer out. I know MD has Dee Brown's (former Celtic) daughter coming in 2013. She's from the Atlanta area as well. Not sure if her and Davis are buddies or not. Not sure how attractive Miami will be after this season.

Well, I guess ESPN's evil plan is working then.

Supposedly Muffett was at one of her Kaela's recent games. How she got an "in" with ESPN I don't know.
