"I believe [any logistical problem] can be overcome if there is a mind-set we need to find a way," Manuel said. Later he added, "I've been a chairman of a committee before and, remember, you're still only one vote, one perspective."

If Jeremy Lamb and Andre Drummond bolt for the NBA in bad academic standing, the cynics will be satisfied. Yet if Drummond leaves in good standing for the NBA because he thought there'd be no tournament, only to find out in July he could have played in it, the numbers will scream injustice.
"I hope sports fans are listening," Herbst said. "This injustice happened to us and it can happen to their favorite team as well.

"The NCAA is reaching back into the past, grabbing old data and then hurting the careers of terrific young men who did nothing wrong. Why would an organization, devoted to the welfare of students, do that intentionally? They still have a chance to make it right for us and others and I expect they will. I believe justice will prevail."

UConn incorporated the new "voluntary" Pledge of Allegiance policy this year under the pretenses the United States of America is a nation with justice for all:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

How far reaching is the concept of justice for all? Taken literally it would expand to all circumstances where an injustice is being perpetrated or is perceived to be in any case.

If your (Herbst) intent is to truly exact justice and you (Herbst) preach the justice for all philosophy through the Pledge of Allegiance a safe assumption is a reasonable prudent person with said beliefs would proceed accordingly to protect the very words the University believes in. Otherwise we are dealing with extreme hypocrisy on behalf of the University for implementing a policy with words they are not willing to protect.

There are a few different avenues that can bring about favorable results here for UConn and/or its student athletes. Ultimately it will take the University and/or the athletes to seek competant advise from the proper sources. There are a select few that can win this fight and the return on investment for the University would be equivalent to a BULL market.
