Midway through the second period and we're being outclassed and out-coached in many ways. What I didn't expect to see was us looking that much slower in real time than Navy.
We spend a lot of time on conditioning and nutrition and I realize that sometimes our big guys might not be the fastest on the field, but I expect our guys to be in great shape.. What I didn't expect was to hear that our coaches tried to "acclimate" the players to what was expected to be a warm day by practicing in 90+ temps indoors twice this week. Not sure how common this is but from what I recall we had some pretty warm weather in CT the past few months and I doubt our guys were all hanging indoors relaxing with the AC on high.
If you expect to play in tough conditions on Saturday how does it benefit your guys to get dehydrated 2 extra times during the practice week instead of keeping them strong and getting sharp reps in practice? Yes it's nitpicking, not an exercise physiologist and I have no idea the extent or duration of the drill. But it's something that made me think "throwback" immediately when I heard it and probably a condition you shouldn't have to worry about too much about unless your guys have been chilling for the last 2 months. Any insights?
