Wasn't sure of the time of yesterday's game. So I googled it around 10AM. This is a screen capture of the result...

A week or so ago, I asked Google Assistant what the score of the UConn game was and it told me the score and that the game was over..... based on the halftime score. AI has a ways to go....

I have a brother in law who lives his life via AI; he takes their advice and asks it prolly 100 questions a day.

I warn him, "you can't always trust those things man, it is constantly wrong"

And he always replies, "it's literally a supercomputer brain, how can it be wrong"

Your brother in law needs to be aware of AI hallucinations. There is a term since false information from AI is not uncommon.

There's a video game I was waiting years to play, called Hollow Knight: Silksong. The game took so long to come out that the fanbase was going insane, filling the internet with misinformation about the game.

It came out last September, and AI still frequently will say that it hasn't come out yet, or it will regurgitate that blatant misinformation, because of how polluted the internet is with that stuff.

A human can look at the whole situation and realize it's just fan craziness/satire, and an AI is just blindly repeating what it sees.

I heard a comment along the lines that AI knows a lot about a topic if you don’t know much but it doesn’t know much if you know a lot about the topic

I don't necessarily agree with that viewpoint. It depends on which AI you are using. My company has a proprietary AI GPT and I've asked it some technical questions and I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of answers.

I treat it like Wikipedia. It's a front door to a topic. Click on those links embedded in the AI answers just like you would with a Wiki.

Presumably they're restricting what the AI has access to and it isn't just crawling across the entire Internet to gobble up every crackpot and weirdo's explanations or theories.
