We have basically an entire season ahead of us so all hope is not gone but, there is a ton of work to be done to get into a position where we could be a factor in the big dance.

Reed needs to play 25+ minutes a game, Johnson 10 and the remainder filled with Singare/small lineup. A few days ago I felt not having given Singare any real run in the cupcake games wasn't an issue. Now it seems like it could have been an opportunity squandered. Perhaps some earlier minutes in those games would have helped him provide a little actual relief in either first half in Maui
Mahaney needs to be given a Joey C role for now, which hopefully he can grow from and become the player Dan Hurley believes he can be.
Diarra & Nowell need to be our PG combo and we need to hope the Nowell can accelerate his learning curve.
Stewart deserves more run. Dan Hurley can't view him as only a sub for AK or LM. He deserves a bigger role.
I'm a bit confused with Ball. With rare exceptions, last year it appeared his entire offensive game was slashing to the basket. Now it looks like he wants to be purely a spot up shooter. There are a lot of things he can add to his game that in all candor we desperately need.
At times the past two games our offense looked like the players just met an hour before tipoff. This also could have been an opportunity squandered from earlier games, due to an attempt to force a rotation from preconceived estimations of what some guys could do. PT has to be merit based or we won't go anywhere.
This may be Dan Hurley's least effective defense since he was coaching high school and personally I don't get it.
On the plus side; we have a very experienced staff that has put together championship teams, knows how to teach defense and normally doesn't tolerate mediocrtity. We also doe have quite a few very talented pieces that, if they can learn to perform as a team could compete with anyone out there. On the minus side; we have a massive amount of distance to make up and need to do so during the season (Waylon called it repairing a plane while it's in the air) as preseason is long gone. It's my guess that we won't get any favors from the officials for quite some time so that will just increase the challenge. We haven't won a title as a five seed yet so that could be our goal this season.
