Was anybody besides me wondering about the call on the opening of the Cuse game?
The jump ball ended up in a tie up. So why was possession awarded to Cuse?
I have eliminated pity, encouragement, bias and collusion.

Yeah, I didn't understand that either. I was expecting a re-jump.

I don't know the exact rule, but probably the official judged that UConn won the tip and gained possession and was subsequently tied up. If that were the case, then the rule of alternating possessions would say that Syracuse was entitled to the ball following the tie-up.
