Jump to Big Ten Is a Big Flop for Rutgers (New York Times)

2021 until their full membership revenue arrives. College athletics are an expensive endevour—even if it’s “the front porch” of your university, as SH said. A lot hinges for us on February’s AAC media negotiations. Should be public knowledge by spring/summer where our new media deal stands.

This is what a 1-99 record looks like at Rutgers | Politi

Rutgers just played its 100th B1G Conference Volleyball Game, and has an overall record of 1-99 in the conference. The one win was a 5 set match against Maryland in 2015.

2014: 0-20
2015: 1-19
2016: 0-20
2017: 0-20
2018: 0-20

To be fair, I don't think UConn would have faired much better. The B1G is the premium conference for volleyball, having won 9 of the last 12 national championships. Six of the final top-12 teams in the nation are in the B1G, and this is fairly consistent every year.

Do we play volleyball? Honest question... I never hear of UConn's women's volleyball... I guess it was WBB pre-Geno days (when 50 people showed up...)

Yes, UConn has a women's volleyball team that plays in the AAC. Not exactly high profile or very good, for that matter.

I’d rather be bottom of the B10 than top of AAC because maybe attendance would spike and games would have more energy.
