From Hamden High:

Averaged 7.2 mpg his freshman year at Iona and shot it well in limited time (55.6 2p%, 42.3 3p%).

Wish the local kid good luck in finding a D1 scholly.

His Southern Connecticut State teammate, Greg Jones, transferred to UMass today.

Yeah I didn’t think he would land there because they already landed Christian Bishop. They are going to have an incredibly deep front court and just a very deep team altogether.
Agree on all fronts. Surprised he went to Texas, but Chris Beard will have a very deep team with a ton of rotation flexibility.

Bishop can't shoot, but adding Mitchell allows Beard to have two-big lineups where both guys can shoot: Mitchell (6'9 240, 37.3 3p%) and Dylan Disu from Vanderbilt (6'9 220, 37 3p%).

My guess is that, if all are healthy, Mitchell, Disu and Bishop will handle all of the minutes between the 4 and the 5 spots w/ something like Mitchell and Disu averaging 30 mpg apiece and Bishop getting 20 mpg, mostly at the 5 spot due to his poor shooting.

Texas will easily be one of my favorite high-major teams to follow this year, along with Purdue, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Arizona State.

Darryl Morsell transferring from Maryland to Marquette. Former Big 10 defensive player of the year. Nice pick up for Shaka.

UAB is loaded this year and should dominate in the C-USA. They return three senior guards who averaged 10+ ppg (two of which are using their extra year of eligibility) and they added via the transfer wire:
  • Jordan Walker 5’11 170 senior from Tulane, 13p, 2r, 4.3a, 1.7s, 40 fg% in 33.5 mpg
  • Justin Brown, 6’6 208 grad from USF, 8.1p, 3.3r, 36.2 3p% in 27.7 mpg
  • KJ Buffen, 6’7 230 senior from Ole Miss, 8.1p, 4.5r, 49.7 fg%, 38.9 3p%
  • Jamal Johnson, 6’4 195 senior from Auburn, 9.4p, 2.5r, 36.1 3p% in 25.6 mpg
  • Josh LeBlanc, 6’7 230 grad from LSU, 3.2p, 4.4r, 1s. 0.7b, 66.7 fg% on 16.7 mpg
  • Tyreke Locure, 6’0 165 junior from South Alabama, 13.5p, 5.0r, 3.1a, 2.0s in 34.6 mpg

For those still interested in keeping up with transfer portal news. I believe the last day to put your name in is tomorrow for immediate eligibility (correct me if i’m wrong) so we might be seeing a bunch of last minute people entering today

Do you know anything about this player?

I knew there would be a bunch of last minute additions. I also saw that Marcus Carr will leave the draft and look to transfer.
