This is what I have expected since the information came out and the two sides disagreed. There seems logically to be a bit of truth everywhere and some assumptions.

After hearing what happened and reading John Altavilla's reports, my feeling is that it's nothing to go crazy over. Such talk occurs all the time in sports between players and teams. And if the UConn players don't want to talk about it, why should we waste our time?

I get angrier about what goes on on the court. Nasty play is something to get irate about, especially when the refs don't call fouls. But as much as I dislike ND, and they have played nasty in the past, the recent game appeared to me to be played fairly with ND deserving the win.

Even assuming the report is correct and I have doubts - Unsporstmanlike behavior from an athlete? Wow, that's a first. "Waaaah! She said we suck!"

The real story should be - Why is it a story at all, and why bring it up now? IMO a big mistake by Auriemma. He comes across as petty and a whiner. Who does that sound like?

Thanks for posting the article. So it comes down to something someone thought they heard, but nobody knows if it was said or not. Cool. No biggie on my end. We got 7 National titles and a whole bunch of Big East titles. I think that we will be ok.

It's a story because of the circumstances. UConn's season had just ended and a great player's career had ended as well.

Geno is an ultra competitive coach who absolutely will not tolerate comments such as were reported that disrespect his team. From an ND team captain, by the way. If that's petty and whining to you, maybe you don't understand Geno very well.

While the truth may lie somewhere in-between, I find it interesting that Geno seems to be the only coach to have publicized problems with players from opposing teams. Does anyone else find that strange? Do you think other coaches may have similar issues, but they are just ignored by the media? As a former student athlete, I just couldn't imagine doing what Becca was accused of or doing something crazy like trying to trip an opposing coach like the former Syracuse player did a few years ago.

Actually, it sounds like bulletin board material, something to fire up the team.

I thought he was trying to fire up the fans.

Now you're stuck with trying to get them to simmer down:(
