All depends on how the French school system compares. If he's eligible, he's eligible. Plenty of kids don't turn 18 until November/December in their freshman year.

We're just used to college ball players being older because they all reclass. I think Jalen might have turned 20 his freshman year?

I was 17 for months when I was a freshman at UConn.

If his educational system has him finishing the equivalent of American high school, then he can play. Just like Mykhailiuk on KU, and he was even younger; born June '97 and began with KU in 2014. He finished high school in Ukraine to a point that equated American schooling, and was eligible to come over and play in college, even though he was a year younger than all the other freshmen that season.
