Joe a pro? | The Boneyard

Joe a pro?

Tim Boyle has a career because he has a great football mind. He is regarded as an extra coach and will be a coach someday. There's always room for someone that knows that much football. Not sure where Joe is on that side of things.

Love JF, and he is fortunate to be emerging into a football landscape with more pro opportunities than ever. That said, no, I don’t think Fagnano is likely to play pro ball. Training camp invite? Maybe an outside shot.

Tim has a great arm. Big difference than good, to just a pop gun arm.

I think he might have a shot in the CFL if he wants. Hell, he played in Maine. He can deal with Canada.

As a coach, maybe. Wouldn't mind Mora offering him a GA spot.

Exactly the same reason Orlovksy stuck around for so long

The UFL may be an option. There are 8 teams and more coming. That opens another 16+ QB slots in addition to the nearly 100 QB slots in the NFL (3 per team X 32 teams). Toss in the injury rate for QBs. That's another 25 or so opening up during any season.

So, If Joe can stay healthy, hit open receivers, and learn the playbook (not in that order). I'm saying there's a chance.

That's what i was thinking. He's grinded things out so far and has come out well respected. Mora speaking for him will also help out. Likewise CFL probably isn't an option since he can't air it out.

I don't believe he is good enough for the professional ranks. Most likely going to need a resume for the real world or get into coaching/grad assistant.

How many guys in the NFL are heaving the ball 60-70 yards downfield outside of like Jackson and Allen these days? The NFL is played 10-15 yards at a time.

He needs to get into a camp as an UDFA. If he can’t stick with a practice squad he needs to look at the UFL but that is more competitive than it looks.

You don’t throw 20TDs to 4 INTs without doing something pretty well. He has good decision processing and vision, good accuracy and a fairly quick release. All things that matter in the NFL. Arm strength matters only so much. He isn’t the total package but he could be a back up with work. The TD throw while he was being tackled was dead nuts on and impressive as hell. The fade into the endzone to Bell was perfectly placed. The kid can play. I’ll point out some people were complaining he throws low on crossing routes and high on outs. I think he is doing that purposely to avoid picks in many cases.
