Wow...

Newcomers continue to impress

http://runwayramblings.blogspot.com/2013/08/newcomers-continue-to-impress.html

>>As I watched Tim Boyle and Richard Lagow zip throws all over the field, Josh Marriner opening eyes when he got carries, Brian Lemelle and Michael Boland involved in the passing game, Matt Walsh looking comfortable at fullback, Kyle Schafenacker working at right guard with the No. 2 offense as well as fellow true freshmen Junior Joseph and Javon Hadley getting reps with the second-team defense it made me realize what a difference a year makes.<<

Lot of info in article...

Great write up by Fuller.

It certainly seems that the back-up QB job is wide open.

Junior Joseph is 6-1, 247 on the roster. Short but big enough for a college DE.

If measurables are accurate, he is same size (actually slightly heavier) than Trev was. I think the staff is looking more at more at getting hybrid LB/DE guys on the field to counter pass-happy attacks.

Not sure how fast Junior is, don't know if he's ever been officially timed, but speed was definitely Trevardo's strength. He used to outrun the entire kick return units.

Junior Joseph though? A good pass rusher, has strong hands. Junior Joseph was top 30 in the entire state of Pennsylvania AAA high school division in 12lb shot put. You can look it up. That means he got strong and explosive hands and an explosive upper and lower body.

I love when we find football players that excel in track and field.

I'll write what everyone else is thinking.

Between Jesse's, Joseph's, Junior's and Johnson's I get confused very easily.

I was reading this thread and couldn't figure out if we were talking about Jesse Joseph, Junior Joseph, or Jerome Junior.

Good story by the Register, all coverage is improving while the courant's gets worse!

The Register has always been good...I thought Chip did a great job...and he seemed to know his stuff.

This time last year and the year before Dez Connor was cranking out stories to get us going. This year it seems like he is applying for sports desk openings outside the state. Not a little disappointed but very much disappointed in the Courant coverage.
