That's a lot for sure. But I think they have their 32 that they will choose from. The rest will get a cursory look unless someone really pops out.I do like the idea of an application process for USA under 16s, but 135 players in a tryout setting seems a little over the top. If this were a week long 'camp' with 20-30 players selected for the tryout from the camp it would make much more sense.
Agree, but the whole idea of an application process is that there are so many 14-15 year olds playing across the country that selecting a 32 player pool is fraught with problems in scouting. To make the application process meaningful either they should greatly limit the players they take so they could actually distinguish them during the trial, or set a pretrial camp that allowed a better 'viewing' and selection process.That's a lot for sure. I definitely agree with that.Ends up that parents are paying a lot of money for a really long shot.
