I'd like to see how Boatright functions as the starting point guard with Bazz coming in and out. I think Boat can handle it and it'll give him some valuable chances to show what he's got."-bombs flowed like wine". Great line.
Napier is obviously not full strength and the team isn't very good with a 75% Bazz. In retrospect, I'd rather he sat this past week and healed while we lost two games than have him play on a bum wheel and we lose two games.
"Shabazz Napier is still banged up. He practiced Sunday and participated in most drills (though was on the stationary bike at times, as well), but had to be helped back to the locker room by trainer James Doran when practice was over."
totally agree that he could be a better player in the future and will def be a more explosive player, but honestly... bazz has had a bunch of 2o point games this season so you can't say that he can't score because he def can... bazz could have 30 as well playing with someone like boat bc of his ability to penetrate and have defenders help on him thus freeing napier for wide open 3'sBazz is the starter and will remain the starter. Boat is more of an "energy off the bench guy" this season. Maybe next year he will give Bazz a serious test for the starting PG job. Boat WILL absolutely light it up as a scorer at some point. I can see him scoring 30 plus on a given night, but that is probably a season or two away.
agreedTo be clear, I think a healthy Bazz should be the starter and Boatright comes off the bench ala Kemba's frosh year.
What I was suggesting was that if Bazz is hurt and can't play well, might as well sit him and let him heal more quickly. We haven't looked good with him when he has a bad wheel.
