Rockets officials, though, remain steadfast in their belief that, even if the Bulls decline to match on Asik, that they'll be able to absorb at least three of the four aforementioned Magic role players: Richardson, Davis, Duhon and Turkoglu. Sources say that the Rockets would have to send Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris and Chandler Parsons to the Magic from their current roster to make the salary-cap math work, as well as the draft rights to Jeremy Lamb, Royce White and Terrence Jones, all selected in last month's first round.

So who does that leave on the team? Just Dwight? I belive the Rockets want him now, then plan to sign and trade him next year. That jump starts their rebuilding process. He will do a sign and trade because he gets the most money that way and Rockets will not go through aquiring him and losing him for nothing.

i dont see how this benefits the magic or the rockets

One of the dumber scenarios I've read yet for the Rockets. They worked hard to get those 3 first round picks and now they don't want them? They'd rather be in Orlando's position next year trying to move Howard without someone like Jeremy Lamb to throw in to the deal for any team willing to put up with Howard?

Dwight, CP3 and Bynum will be unrestricted free agents next year. Seeing what happened to griffin, some would argue it is not the best idea for CP3 to sign with the clips seeing thier prized superstar (Griffin) has had 2 knee surgeries in the past 3 years. Who knows, CP3+Dwight could land in Atlanta together...

If the Magic dont do something soon, they will get nothing when howard leaves via free agency. At least this way, they get a billion draft picks, and a few players.
I have no idea how this helps houston though.....i agree there

seems to be a no brainer for Orl, 3 first round picks in Lamb, Jones, and White plus a potential lottery pick in the Toronto pick. I like that deal better than the Nets one that was being offered.

+kevin martins expiring contracts, three decent players from the last two drafts, and they get rid of 3 of their bad contracts....if this is a real offer it should have been accepted instantly

Howard could end up in the ATL. along with ATL hommies Lou Williams, and Josh Smith with CP3 as the wild card after next year. The Clippers are not built for a championship, but have an air of excitement with Griffin. Interesting times for ATL perhaps.
