Its takes a special incompetence to inherit a BCS bowl squad loaded with NFL talent and systematically bring it to nearly the very bottom of major college football. The legacy of the clown ripples forward impacting the school's chances to affiliate with a major conference. Thanks Paul. Nice job.

All he really needed to do was go 6-6 that first year and maybe win a bowl and I can't imagine we wouldnt be in the ACC or B1G. RU says they had been on the wait list since the 90s and MD going was all they needed so maybe the B1G is unlikely. At the very least we retain our rightful spot in the ACC over Louisville. That happens and right now Louisville and Cincy have probably already signed the papers with the Big12 and all is right in the world. But no the cupboard only had 10 NFL players in it, and not just on D! Geremy Davis, Nick Williams, and Ryan Griffin.

I guess Pasqualoni won't be forgotten. I really don't think it would have mattered, UL still would have succeeded to get in ahead of us and Rutgers would still be picked to get into the Big Ten ahead of us. We have to pay our dues, it's how college sports always has been.

UCF and USF still won't be taken yet. They'll probably have to serve several more years in the AAC and hope they win games. But the AAC will still be loaded with markets/schools desirable to major conferences. I get the impression P5 conference expansion has a long way to go. No one has said what the ultimate end goal is per conference.

It's not a question of if UConn will be in a P5 conference, an issue of when.

The AAC will be the tree that P-5 conferences pick from to fill their baskets and UConn has no choice but to strive to be the biggest, juiciest apple on that tree. The conference is not as bad as some want to make it. They just lack the legacy the P-5 conferences have established. If purgatory was a conference would the AAC be it?

So, you mean call a running play on 3rd and 9 vs. Vanderbilt.

I hope so. Everybody gets out of purgatory.

The 3 Non conf losses that year were huge and really.....should have won 2 of them. The West Mich game was one of just complete and utter thrashing by the Broncos. The Vandy and ISU losses however......should not have happened and 12 months previously....would not have happened....but hey.....we now have Robert Diaco at the helm.
