C'mon - He practically cherry picked thread comments on the Boneyard in the last few days.

Actually thought he was supportive of the direction of the program in his own Jacobs kind of way.

Actually thought he was supportive of the direction of the program in his own Jacobs kind of way.

If anyone is rooting against Diaco, then they need the BY proverbial punch in the throat. There is a big difference from being concerned and expressing deficiencies, and wanting him out the door. Come the end of year 3 and we look like dog crap, then maybe the conversation is due.

There really wasn't anything in there we haven't discussed here to the point of beating a dead horse. There are signs of improvement that get tempered by things like horrific clock management. Everyone agrees it is far too early in Diaco s tenure, given what he inherited, to contemplate another coaching change.

But hey we were ahead of the curve on one thing, firing coaches mideseason is all the rage he says, we got rid of P a quarter into the season two years ago.

When you are 3-5 and the three teams you beat have one combined FBS win...

It's not really all that unfair to say either the players, the coaches or some combination of the two aren't good enough. It's really the only conclusion one can come to.

I don't think the board has been unfair this week - let's face it we are the only people talking about this stuff in any depth. I don't think I've seen a single person call for Diaco's head - so Jacobs took out some strawmen.

We're probably at a point where whispers of discontent aren't inappropriate. Three and five a year now from and it'll be a rumble. Right now I can still remember getting the ball jammed down our throats by Towson and scraping past Stony Brook by a whisker. I know we've progressed from that point. Next year, the base line for measuring progress is this year, not last year or the year before. I am getting pretty tired of having no answer for trolls like aacreigns.

If the last 4 are a replay of 2014 you have to wonder. I'm coming to think Diaco might well be a good head coach some day but he was woefully unprepared for the job when we hired him. We'll see.

Criticism of Diaco is fair game. He's 20 games into his tenure here, and yes, he's only 5-15 since with 3 wins this year over an FCS and 2 of the worst FBS teams in college football. And his game management and decision making has been consistently questionable and mind-boggling at times. But although it's been beaten to death, it can't be underestimated what he inherited from the PP/GDL disaster. Are we better than last year? Yes. Are we a good team? Not by a longshot. Should we be significantly better next year if we stay healthy? Most definitely. Let's see how the rest of this season goes. If the team tanks without any signs of significant progress, there's valid reason for concern. But he'll be here next year and will bring in more of his own recruits. Year 3 will be the telling point for Diaco's future here IMO.

Not for nothin', as they say, and I know it's not 'wins', but at least we're not sitting through games where we go down 14-0 five minutes in without a prayer of getting back into it. The game experience the youngsters (HCBD included) are getting this year is far more meaningful than what they were getting last year.

Agree with the last few posts. If the team quits like it did last year, that is not a good sign whatsoever. We need to carry over momentum into 2016 and repeating 2014 this year will be very damaging. It's bowl game or bust next year for Diaco and the coaching staff. I think he will get a full year in 2016 regardless of what happens this season (even if the team quits again). But the floor expectation will be firm: bowl game or bust. Anything short of 6 wins should result in a coaching change after the 2016 season. Needless to say, the pressure that will be on the football team's shoulders will be IMMENSE.
