Interesting to see the sudden media interest in Chris. First ESPN, now this. She certainly deserves these accolades and more, but I have enough experience dealing with media to know that such multiple feature stories are rarely "coincidences".

well since UConn has a nationally elite team without any nationally elite players and a HC who didn't do a nationally elite coaching job, someone has to have done something special. Clearly, it's Chris!

Great Read, I wonder once she hangs up her coaching shoes, will Chris have some second thoughts, maybe I could have had a married life and coached at the same time. Today she's obviously very happy with how she's living her life and the job she has.

This was a wonderful article on Chris Dailey by Jeff Jacobs. I have for a long time been curious about Chris, her background, how she got into coaching and her beliefs that make her such a strong part of the U CONN Women's BB leadership team. In fact it is hard not to consider, given all that she does in her position, that she could be considered co-head coach. I understand, Geno is the coach and she the Asst but even Geno admits that he would not be where he is professionally without her contributions. Which brings me to the one revelation in the article that bothered me. Chris has been there for the entire 27 years that Geno has and is equally important to the success of the program but she is paid $250,000 and Geno is paid $2 million. Now don't get me wrong, I think Geno is worth EVERY cent he gets but it just seems to me that Chris is deserving of a salary of at least half of what Geno gets. I just can't believe she isn't being paid $1 or $1.25 million dollars in her position. I just have to say it, I think Chris deserves better.

Geno's base salary is either 400,000 or 450,000 annually now. The balance of his pay comes from contractual commitments for speaking and media appearances. Finally (and we want this to continue for sure) he has bonus clauses based on how far the women go in the NCAA tournament.
