He lists us as his first item "in a funk", says Lamb doesn't stand a chance at first team All-American, and groups us as one of the 4 most disappointing teams of the season.

Is this becoming the storyline of our season, or is King really on an island with those declarations?

He is correct about the "in a funk" but Lamb has a shot depending on how the season goes. Just look at Caron or Ben for players with insane talent who had it click the second half of a year.

When we lost to Seton Hall and Rutgers, everyone said we weren't that good. Then we beat West Virginia and Notre Dame and they said we were the second best team in the Big East. Then we lost 2 more in a row and now we're one of the most disappointing teams in the country.

See how stupid it is to try and make these evaluations in the middle of the season?

Not really a mindblowing opinion - yes, they are one of the most disappointing teams this year. Interestingly enough, a lot of those are coming out of the Big East this year with Pitt, Louisville and Uconn. Hopefully they right the ship, but trending poorly.

I wouldn't call this the middle of the season BTW. There is a substantial chunk of season behind this team to guage it. There was a little spike of ups there, but it's been mainly down. And if you look at that sample you just showcased, it's losing 4 out of 6 against decent, not great, competition.

I don't pay much attention to these writers during the season, but, yes, I think uconn is definitely one of the most disappointing teams thus far, at least from the perspective of the national media and their preseason ranking.

I think Pitt and UCLA have been huge disappointments, since they were both top 25 and they're barely .500 clubs, but that next tier would have to include uconn, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Memphis, and Arizona, due to their preseason rank and their results.

I could easily see those first three teams being good come postseason play.

Although I don't think anyone would've predicted uconn losing to the 5 teams they've lost to, I don't think all uconn fans are terribly surprised by what's going on.

People love comparing this season to last season. Last season our schedule was much tougher and we beat 4 top 15 teams by this point. What is our best win this year? FSU?

If we play like we did against WV, regardless of result, I'm happy.

That's why I'm a fan. Not for the final W/L tally or the rings. I love watching UConn basketball, Calhoun style. I feel as though we haven't done it much this year.

Just play hard boys, 40 minutes, and I'm loving it.

If UConn Men's basketball was a publicly traded company (ticker symbol UCMB on the Nasdaq), would you buy the stock right now?

The Experts on ESPNU yesterday agreed in the disappointment label for two reasons:
1)no boatright or any other serviceable guard. can't win in d1 basketball with one guard.side conversation came up as to who is a bigger lose to their team boat to Uconn or Melo to SU.
2)no complementary play when Drummond and Oriakhi are on the court. Feel that it should be a dominant front court but AO in particular has been non existent.

Hell yeah. The potential for a return looks a lot bigger than the potential for worse losses than we've already seen. With the price where it is, that's a decent value.

Yes. It's the perfect time to buy UCMB.
Buy low. Sell high.
I think the fundamentals are solid and there will be a good return in second half of the year.
