This is a spot-on analysis. I agree that his shot is better than his stats show. Gaffney had the lowest FG% on the team (yes lower than Alterique's) and had the 2nd lowest 3 pt FG%. However when he has his feet set he shoots it better.

All of our recent great PGs Kemba, Bazz, Boat, and Jalen were able to hit the 3 off the dribble, but Gaffney really, really struggled shooting it off the dribble.

Most of us were expecting him to impact the game more with his athleticism but that rarely showed this year, I think he only had one dunk the whole season. He also displayed below average lateral quickness. His handle is also below average for a PG.

I actually think he is more of a natural shooting guard. Shooting with his feet set is his best asset.

I don't know how he will turn out 2-3 years from now, but he really needs to improve his handle and his ability to finish layups at a higher rate in order to take his game up another level going into next year.
