There were two things that caught my attention in this article.

First was Randy's teams were 39-12 at home during 2003-2010 So you have 8 seasons and only 12 loses. Take out WV every other year...you can do the math. We basically were unbeatable at home when he was here.

That was with good teams and not so good teams. Now....?

Second and more importantly this comment from Steve Greene is telling.

"It doesn't feel good to be booed by your own fans. We have to elevate our performance to have them cheering rather than booing."

It's useless to try and tell uneducated and drunkin fools that you don't boo college kids.

That was my main defense of Edsall, with regards to the gameday experience at the Rent. We won, nearly all of the time. Which (although TDH makes good points that a more exciting offense would be better) is really all that matters.

Clarification: this is why the rank and file fan loved Edsall and didn't care that we never got past 8-4. Most of them never watched or went to road games.

Randy Edsall was the bestest best 7-5 coach ever. If you don't believe me, just ask WhalerLawyer.

I'm hurt that you didn't include me. He was the best 9-3 and 8-4 coach we ever had as well.

First, the vast, vast majority of people who are booing weren't booing the kids, Art. I agree booing the KIDS is poor. The boos came after obvious coaching fails -- the long time it took to run the screen that got intercepted after a change of possession, the illegal sub penalty at the goal line, the disorganization on the rushed, failed fourth-down try. One time, maybe a player had a brain fart. Over and over again for 2-plus season? Coaching. Same stuff we've been seeing since 2011.

IMO its acceptable to boo someone getting paid that kind of money who is failing miserably at his job. It also conveys to P's supervisors that the people paying the freight aren't happy. In fact, it might be the ONLY way to make the powers-that-be understand.

If you were a player and asked about the booing, what would you say? You're not going to say "hey it's cool, we know they're not happy with the coach." Again, let's go to the USC scenario last Saturday. It applies here (smaller scale).

With waves of boos surrounding them from late in the first quarter until they walked off the field Saturday, the Trojans players are now feeling the brunt of the fans’ distaste for their coach. This was the worst and earliest expression of dissatisfaction by Trojan Nation in recent memory, and it was certainly the ugliest, and it was hard to blame them.

. . . .It added up to a night of ringing hostility that occasionally seemed to distract the players, but apparently never bothered their coach.
"You can’t worry about that, it is what it is," Kiffin said of the boos. "I think I heard those before the game started, in warmups, I’m getting used to it."
But should his players, college kids who really aren’t the target of the boos, have to get used to it?
"We’re getting used to playing on the road," Kiffin said with an odd, tiny grin.

Cripes my quick scan of the topics with my cheep drugstore cheaters I thought the post was ...Edsall vs Pasqualoni ...bring your own b00bs"!
