Ameshya Williams-(Holliday)!!!!!

25th pick.

That girl is a diamond in the rough. Loved what she did here, or the brief glimpses she showed was really impressive. Sad some personal issues made her leave because I felt we had nobody behind McCowan that year, and could've overcame Notre Dame if we had someone behind McCowan when she went out of the game.

I agree. I recall she played well in the E8 against Baylor in 2017 in some limited minutes. I think she had a promising future at MSU before deciding to leave. It sounds as though she has persevered and overcome a lot to get to this point. Even if she doesn't make a roster, she has certainly come a long way and earned her education.

My only quibble with the article is the reference about when her son stays with his grandmother 40 minutes away in Gulfport when she wasn't at her off campus apartment in Jackson. Gulfport to Jackson is far more than 40 minutes and is several hours away. Yes, minor detail as she has no doubt overcome very challenging obstacles. Kudos to her!
