Jabari Parker to Puke

If you would have asked me 5 years ago Duke was possibly my least favorite team in all of sports, since all this realignment stuff started I've grown to dislike so many other programs more. I'll probably never openly cheer for Duke but I certainly have much less of a problem with them. Could care less that Jabari picked them, probably a good fit for both of them.

Yup, plus they support UConn in the ACC. I no longer hate them. Cuse, I'm really learning to hate.
The rumor is Cuse was against UConn in the voting and JB does not like JC. I don't know what the relationship is between JC and JB, thought it was good but who know, but Cuse is not an ACC member yet therefore has no voting rights. I doubt they were canvassed for ideas either.

I agree I have grown to dislike other programs more, however it doesn't make me hate Duke any less.

Honestly, why not, K is a fantastic coach. I can't think of a proven coach I would rather play for, can you? Self maybe? EDIT: Izzo would be my first choice.

Times, they are changing fast. Two words...

For some bizarre reason, I feel the same way. I also disliked the Indy Colts when Forehead played for them, but now I don't care at all.

I still dislike Puke, but my hatred has certainly diminished. It's tough not to respect Coach K and their players seem much less annoying than they have in the past. Other than Ryan Kelly, who is truly annoying on that team? Paulus, Scheyer, Wojo, back to Cherokee and Chrissy, et al were hideous. But now they just have a group of decent players who play hard and are actually fun to watch.

He will rot there. Duke doesn't produce good NBA talent like we do, or any other school.

Tough to admit but true. Honestly, if you had a son who played hoops at that level, you'd be thrilled if he went to Duke. I still hate the flopping. But recent Duke teams have been less annoying.

I used to hate Duke a lot more than I do today. Now it's more envy, because they're still really good while no one knows what the status of our program is. And I can't totally hate on them because from the reports, Duke was one of the few ACC schools that actually pushed for us instead of Louisville.

he will thrive there. duke hasnt had a stud wing guy in a while. they always have quality players and good pros but never a stud wing. when i think duke i think of great shooters, raw guards and solid big guys who all do alright for themselves at the next level and do very well with duke and its system. he brings a gay, durant or melo type aspect to duke that they have not had in a while. i think its a huge get for duke and could be a gamechanger for that program. they are always going to be good but if he develops like a lot of scouts think he will, they may have a monster in that system that they almost never have.

lastly, duck fuke

They had Luol Deng (albeit for 1 year). But I agree, that's not the sort of player you see thrive at Duke. Singler might be the closest thing in recent years, though he had nowhere near the athleticism.

Also, I thought Parker was more of a post player.

Do some of you really think SU is against UConn because of a retired coach and an almost retired coach don't like each other? Some of these things that get posted so often as facts drive me nuts. It's like the often repeated Okafor counted against our grad rates because he did it in three years. If SU is against us it's for the same reason as BC. They don't want a competing program in the same region.

Kyrie Irving, but yeah none with the stature of a Jabari Parker, well at least he isn't gonna join squid. I hate the fact that he is joining Puke but cant blame him for wanting to play for K.
