They turned on the defense last year. They had trouble against the 3 last year, and then suddenly came on strong on defense.

What.....I guess UConn doesn't slap the floor and hug enough. Seriously though, Williams comes from a program (Duke) that livesand dies by the 3 point shot. When he sees a team that gives up a few 3-pointers he salivates and thinks that every team has a Langdon or Reddick that can hit over 40% of their 3's.

What exactly did he say that wasn't true?? I watched the game and agree with his observations. He said they have the potential and talent to go to a Final Four but don't give consistent effort on defense, don't work well as a team, and get out hustled. This is exactly what people on the Yard have been saying all season and is dead on. Just because we don't like him or he's a Dukie, or we don't like an outside criticizing our program, doesn't invalidate what he said.

I only mind when an announcer talks about us not being eligible for the tourney (not a done deal yet) and the downfall of our program like Doris Burke which can hurt recruiting and is all speculation. I expect truth from announcers, and I think Williams gave a very accurate summation of this team. We were up 24 points and it got down to 9 and but for a couple of poor decisions it might have gotten closer. This team needs to make free throws and keep their foot on their opponents neck because the opponents from here out are not going to be weak like DePaul.

If that's what he said, while he may be a hater, he is not wrong in this instance. We do all those things.

What am I missing? They're 19-12. They were a top-5 pick in the preseason. They don't have a single signature win this season. Why should people be lining up to praise them?
