I am sitting here very amped for the two semis tonight. I think that eight teams are the sweet spot, with guaranteed slots going to each P5 champ and three at-large. (Even with Baylor's implosion earlier today I think their performance, along with TCU's rout, is proof that no P5 champs should be left out.) I'd actually rather that one of the slots go to the "best" non-P5 team and have only two at-large, but I don't know if that would fly among the big boys.

If the ratings are dynamite and the minor bowls don't take too much of a hit, you'll see 8 in 2-4 years. 1st round at higher seed sites or they will make some kind of deal where schools have to designate a larger local stadium that would host the game if they couldn't provide 10k tickets to opponent etc.

Well, the committee appears to have booted the Ohio State selection. Picking a playoff team with a 3rd string quarterback based on one win over a team whose coach had one foot out the door doesn't seem like such a good idea. And TCU looked pretty good.

It feels like OSU should be getting rolled, but here they are with the ball down eight with a minute and a half to go in the first half.

It's only been a few hours since we've seen how this plays out....

Difference is Ohio States defense has showed they can slow down the bama offense giving them a punchers chance. FSU never even slowed Oregon down.

The best part about this day is that you actually could get a big screen TV for $20 on mayhemsale.com. They've got a bunch of crap there, most of which you don't want. But they are selling one of each of the items the Mayhem Guy advertises for dirt cheap. Great promotion. Love the ads and concept.

Big refrigerator on sale for $99 at halftime.

That is true but it's so similar to this point. Late first half score...

Wont be 39 points but I think Alabama gets through.

Ohio State has also outgained Bama 348 to 140. Blake Sims isn't exactly Marcus Mariota.

Ohio State looks like the better team to me, amazing they are using their third string QB.

Bama has another gear, and they probably don't need it to win today, but if they show up playing like this against Oregon, it will be an epic beatdown.

An 8 team playoff makes a lot more sense. I think Alabama and Oregon are a step ahead of the rest, but Alabama is capable of stinkers on any given game, and Baylor, TCU and Michigan State would have made for an interesting playoff. I felt like Miss State was overrated all season with the weak OOC they played, but they could have rounded the field out with an 8 seed..

The way this QB is throwing against Bama, I think Mariotta shreds them if his Oline gives him time. OSU Oline is good match against the Bama Dline.

They better find that gear. They just got punched in the face.

They came back against Auburn earlier this year. They're gonna have to do it again.

Looking like it might not be Bama.

It really looks like Alabama's secondary is trying to throw this game. Jones' deep passes are all way short and Alabama's corners are either falling down or jogging.

is Devin Smith Terry Glenn's kid? Or do all OSU speedsters look alike, aside from Joey Galloway.

Bama has struggled against the pass. Auburn and their QB Marshall torched them, just couldn't convert in the red zone.
