The winning percentage is as impressive as the overall win total. Geno and CD have had a great run and to see all the great players in attendence last night was something.

I agree. The win percentage was the first thing that caught my eye. Geno would have to lose about 109 straight games before falling behind Tara.

The only other coach still active in the top ten is Andy Yosinoff (77 years-young) whose team won today to push his totals to 918-307. He is in his 47th season and is the Division III's winningest Women's basketball coach, and appears to be in striking distance of catching Muffet McGraw before he retires...

He may be after C. Vivian Stringer's 50 years of coaching record, as he does not appear to be slowing down...

The good news is that every additional win by the Huskies this year is another record!

With all of the streaks, Championships, Final Fours, and wins, I do not think Geno & CD's 30 consecutive Sweet Sixteens were mentioned. It is particularly impressive, as the NCAA Tournament field expanded to 64 teams for the 1994 tournament, which is when the streak began for UConn.

Pat Summit is second with 27, but Geno & CD's is continuing as a current streak.

It would be interesting to see how far down the list of wins one has to go before someone has fewer than 162 losses. Top 50? Top 100?

Two other things worth noting:
Auriemma is 1055 wins above .500, as many as Stringer has total wins (and soon to pass Stevens).
A couple of coaches in Division III broke his record of fastest to 600 wins, most recently G.P. Gromacki, who was 600-86 at the time. But Aurriemma has been on an even faster rate since he reached 600. Gromacki would have to win at better than 89% to get to Auriemma's current numbers.
