It is an interesting year in terms of conference competitiveness across the country. The Big East is definitely down this year, but who is up?
ACC - Duke and ... MD should have been competitive before injuries, UNC is 'meh', anybody else really playing well?
Big 10 - Penn State and ????
Big 12 - Baylor and ???? Oklahoma - injury probably derailed them.
Pac 10 is actually looking a little more competitive this year but is that because the others are actually better or has Stanford slipped back towards them?
SEC may actually have the best top half they've had in years, but not sure.
All things considered with Uconn and ND and then Louisville, Syracuse the BE is still probably the strongest at the top, but the middle has fallen on tough times, and the basement is still pretty sad. I get the sense that there is less quality below the top couple of teams in all the conferences this year with the possible exceptions of maybe the Pac 10 and SEC. In conference ND/Uconn will win out except when they play each other, Baylor shouldn't be challenged, Penn State should win out, Duke might drop one game if they play poorly to either MD or UNC.
