It's times like these where people need to remember what the "E" in ESPN means.

It could have been a last desperate cry for help. It was just so hard to tell from the title.

C'mon back in Tom things will get better. It's a process.

How how much farther away is it than poker?
Thats a very good point, is it the physical activity that makes something a sport? If eSports are considered "sports" Jeopardy really doesn't seem that out of place on ESPN, especially after a historic run like this guy.

ESPN shows spelling bees and hot dog eating competitions and way back they showed monster truck rally’s and dog jumping competitions. They do have to fill their time with so I’m not surprised there is a story about Jeopardy.

One of his craziest stats was in 11 of the games he won, he buzzed his answer in correctly every time. If any tv network had half a brain they’d do a “ken Jennings vs holzauer” showdown in prime time. Big ratings there

Jennings has said he would need his brain from when he made his run back.

Somebody got tired of him and wanted to see his run end....

"She told the Chicago Tribune that she wrote her master's thesis at the University of North Carolina in 2016 "on predicting the difficulty of trivia questions using 'Jeopardy!' clues." She wrote her undergraduate thesis at Princeton on Shakespeare's plays -- which came in handy on the final question."

......I mean, come on.

Have given up watching anything except games on ESPN. Spelling bee news, Jeopardy news, poker, hot dogs. Too much hype, too many personalities who sports is about them.

That is personalities who think sports is about them. Correction from the previous post.

I'd love to see a breakdown for Jeopardy winners with and without degrees. My guess is those with no degree are well represented.

56K behind Ken in something like 40 less games? Beyond impressive I watched basically all but a couple once he got going. The librarian that beat him had a nice win again tonight good for her.

When the "E" stood for entertainment the entertainment programming was still sports related (30 for 30, etc). They changed their name in 1985 to ESPN, Inc, and did away with the initialize.
