Eh.

They beat California in California (a 12 seed, but still).
They beat #1 seed Indiana.
They beat #3 Marquette--who took out #2 Miami.

I don't know what more you want a team to do. They didn't just beat Indiana, they killed them.

Let's tip our hat, hope they lose, and move on.

They are still a very unlikeable team. Even with the loss of his family home, MCW doesn't come off as very likeable. Team full of punks, coached by a whiny . As much as I loathe UCONN; I respect the hell out of the coaches and 80% of the players that have worn the uni.

I can't stand Syracuse, mostly because of the misplaced entitlement of their fans, who exalt a ****box school for Long Islanders at the bottom of their high school class as if it's in the Ivy League, and the blind eye the media seems to turn to the abject lawlessness that's taken over that program over the last decade or so. They're unquestionably my least favorite program in college basketball, and it's not close.

But c'mon, they're beating the teams in front of them, which happen to include the 1 seed in their bracket, who they trounced. There's no "luck of the draw" here, they're playing well at the perfect time. And it sounds ridiculous to say a team is "junk" when they're in the Final Four. How quickly we all seem to forget that 9-9 team in 2011.

Oh, I think you are right. I didn't mind their mid-90s teams that much. I never minded McNamara or Warrick.

But from Devendorf/Harris/Flynn on, their teams have been unlikable (although I never minded Triche or Scoop).

I always liked Scoop because he always gave opposing fans hope that he would blow the game for them.

Any Final 4 is a good Final 4. UConn also had a cakewalk in 2004. Granted, we've been through plenty of heartache losing to the eventual champs right before the F4 like Maryland, Duke, North Carolina and UCLA (and we played all but Carolina close), so the cakewalk in 2004 was deserved.

Personally, I don't place all that much emphasis on F4s. I'm more impressed by championships, but it's still an accomplishment, a little better than F8s, that's for sure.

This pretty much sums it up. People on their board look like complete morons when they try to downplay what we've accomplished, and we look just as stupid doing it to them. They've played really well. Hopefully Michigan will make shots on Saturday.

We played Carolina close--in my memory anyway. . Hamilton shot a 3 for the win or tie in the final seconds didn't he?

We kept it close for a while, but it wasn't a close finish. Kind of like UCLA

Nope:

As cool as the Tar Heels have looked throughout this tournament, the Huskies were enthusiastic after Khalid El-Amin's twisting layup and free throw chiseled what had been an 11-point deficit to 59-58 with 5 minutes 37 seconds left in the game. Suddenly, the two sections of UConn fans were louder than the thousands of North Carolina fans who had been waving light blue pom-pons and routinely offering standing ovations. Suddenly, the second-seeded Huskies (32-5) were dreaming about the Final Four all over again.
''We knew,'' Ricky Moore said, ''that we could have beaten them.''
But the Tar Heels broke loose. Williams grabbed a loose ball in the UConn frontcourt and whipped a long pass to Carter, who dropped it behind him for Jamison and a monstrous dunk with four and a half minutes remaining. Jamison then ran the break for a layup 35 seconds later that extended the lead to 63-58, and the Tar Heels continued on a 12-2 burst that buried UConn. The Huskies played for more than five minutes without a field goal.

I'll give credit where it's due. Honestly, while the team has some flaws, the zone right now is ridiculous. It's like they have five Hakim Warricks out there. MCW might be the perfect player for that system - unlike munchkins like McNamara, Flynn, Hart, Jardine, etc. they have a guy who you can't shoot over at the top of the zone. You have to break it down and then there are long arms flying at you in all directions.

They may have a costly funk again like in the BET final, but they've played very well to get here, at least on D.

As for UConn-UNC, we had a bit of a flu bug that weekend which hurt a little (a lot of iv's were handed out after the UW game), and that was Rip's only subpar postseason game of his career. We still had a chance to take it, but the more experienced team made the plays.

know that their team is junk.

No great players, just the luck of the draw.
That is just the way Syracuse fans are. They are the most negative college fans anywhere and that is saying a lot.
BTW, it would have been fun to see Lee Otis Wilson play with the 3 pt. line. As a Weaver grad I was a fan.

Ah, here's what I am remembering:

"What will the Huskies remember? They will remember Richard Hamilton's 3-point shot from the right side with four and a half minutes remaining, which would have given UConn a 2-point lead if it had fallen. Jamison (20 points) followed it with his dunk."

True- but unlike our FF this one may get vacated when their hot mess shakes out after the season. I think they have a really good team this year- perfect for the $%$## zone they play- hate em- but can not call them out for being a bad team.

We hate 'em, but they deserve credit. Other than their 2nd half curb-stomping by the 'Ville (which has happened to everyone lately), Cuse has been red hot since the BET started. They made IU look like they've never seen a zone before.

Kinda surprised that Michigan is favored Saturday. I think UofL is the only team that can take Cuse down now.

Please, Syracuse, make this t-shirt.
