  • Three future Huskies are currently playing for Team USA in the Youth Olympics
  • Another future Husky is starting for Team Canada in a world championship tune-up tournament
  • Every WNBA playoff game includes at least one former UConn player
  • Maya is the WNBA MVP; Taurasi finished 2nd
  • Geno will coach Team USA at the WCs in Istanbul and several former UConn players should be on the roster
  • Oh, UConn classes begin on Monday; First Night less than 2 months away

  • There's a distinct possibility Breanna Stewart will get some Team USA experience under her belt, maybe even this year (and definitely 2016).
  • UConn has been to seven straight final fours. Eight is almost inevitable.
  • UConn is favored to win a tenth national championship.
  • UConn is about to unveil an official kickass OOC schedule.

Every time I think that UConn's WCBB has reached as high as it can go, I am proven wrong again and again. Don't know how Geno does it, but I'm glad he does!

One other thing:

91 games in a row, though a long, long way from being attained. Is not out of the question entirely.

and a 13 year old little league superstar announces that she want to play for UConn and Geno!

We've got maybe 10 years left of Geno (scary thought for the rest of WCBB), so I guess she will still have a shot!

By the way, if UConn was a country, they'd win the Olympics in a landslide. They'd have the best coach, one of the best point guards, the best guard, the best forward, a match-up nightmare at the 4, and one of the best centers. And a couple of WNBA starters coming off the bench.

On today's trip to the stupormarket I wore my long-sleeve UConn women's basketball championship 2002, 2003, 2004.

suddenly my heart is lighter and all cynicism has fled my brain. Seriously, I needed this...
