Congrats. I'm just happy it was closer then last time. Good luck against SJU.

UGLY does not even begin to describe it. I wish KML had another 15 in the second half. What is the deal with Hayes?
:( This is not the time for her to disappear again.

The next two games are huge. A rematch against St. John's, a game we NEVER should have lost. No slight against St. John's they were amazing that night. That open 3 was crazy, and why we did not go for a two at the end... I do not know.... but... we never should have lost that.

Lets say we beat St. John's... and if Notre Dame beats WV, then it is WV again. Would love to have that match up with ND over estimating UCONN and have KML have a Maya Moore-ish Syracuse game. 10 3's ;) But I also think it would be great for their confidience if they could beat Notre Dame.

That said I would love to see Notre Dame play Baylor in the Final Four, but as it is looking we will be the team to play them. Unless UCONN can beat ND for the Championship.

I second this! You guys won, but at least we made you look ugly doing it! ;)

Good luck to UConn going forward.

I fancy our chances tomorrow, not willing to go beyond that

Disturbingly bad. Not the kind of game you expect UConn to play after the team gets together to reset things and start the tournament. Don't know if Tiffany can have a more difficult game.

It was a Rutgers game. They are almost always ugly.

Part of it was Rutgers, part of it our own ineptitude, especially in getting the ball inside. A lot of it was due to some bizarre officiating, including one extended (like four or five minute) conference at the scorer's table to decide to take 6 seconds off the shot clock. That ridiculous stoppage seemed to completely deflate our first half momentum.

At least there won't be much time to dwell on tonight's game. The next game will be here soon enough and hopefully it'll remove the bad taste from this one.

Agreed. The offense simply had no flow this evening. If not for KML... nevermind I don't even want to think about that.

well while i agree with Mil that Ru makes you play ugly ball. this is the team we've been seeing shades of the past month. i realize the BY is a small sample of the fans of UCONN, but i listened to and had a ton of conversations with fans who never read the BY and they said this team has regressed over the past month to month and a half, and i'm not sure i disagree with them. i can't figure out why we looked so much better a month ago than we have lately, and specifically today...

i realize it's different seeing it on TV, but this year the team has rarely had a strong post game. no slight against Stef and Kiah, and maybe it's just as much the guards' faults, but when you have Oliver go out with 2 fouls in the 1st half and have lightly regarded freshman Evans on Stef, you have to think you have a huge advantage there. i guess the coaches and players did not feel that way.

it's been a while since i saw a full game in person, but Geno was going ballistic for long portions of the game, and much of it while UCONN was in the middle of running a play, and much of it direcited at the players. i'm sure he knows this team much better than i do, but the screaming and yelling at them seems to not be working. in a way, it reminds me of the Ann Strother teams - kids who were nice and did not respond to the yelling. just a thought.

We are mostly a jump shooting team. when KML is on, we have a chance to win. or when Bria and Tiff are hitting shots, that gives us a better chance. but our post play still struggles. not sure why. i've seen other teams with monster post production. is it our players? the coaching? the teaching? no idea.

and let me just say the officiating was among the worst i've ever seen. on both sides. inconsistent, crazy, just flat out bad. i think the fouls were called pretty even, but i hope we never see that crew again. i don't know if any of the other games even got to the bonus in each half. yikes!

Tiff took a really ugly (unintentional) shot in the first half. I saw her favoring her hip much of the game. That is what was up with her

It's not an aparition, this team is regressing instead of peaking. No idea why.

Again, your observations are correct. Can't seem to get the ball into the post for some points.

His frustration with this team during the last month is obvious.

KML saved our bacon tonight.

Going to be a real interesting game on Monday. Outcome is not certain.
