Since the Connecticut Sun have both the 3rd and the 4th picks, it really doesn't make a bit of difference to anyone whether Morgan is picked 3rd or 4th. In fact, there was an article in the Courant on Wednesday morning in which Curt Miller, the Sun's new head coach, said jokingly that maybe he would use the 4th pick on Tuck so that Geno could say that he won four National Championships WITHOUT having the three best players in the country.
Whether Morgan is picked 3rd or 4th really doesn't matter, except to those who are looking for artificial "firsts".
And by the way, I don't think it is a forgone conclusion that San Antonio will pick Moriah at #2. They probably will, since Danielle Robinson has a season-long injury, but still, that team's long term needs are in the paint.
If San Antonio does pick Moriah, I've decided that Morgan and Jonquel Jones are the two players that the Sun should draft. That's a change in my thinking about Morgan and her knee, but the Sun are pretty well stocked in the back court and the other guard choices in the draft aren't all that impressive. Although Aerial Powers and Courtney Williams of USF are certainly worth a look.
The Courant article said that the Sun are focused on Tuck, Jones, Williams, and Rachel Banham -- on the assumption that Stewie and Moriah are off the board by the time they draft.
