AP has made great use of the weight room since "The Decision" as none of the 3x3 opponents were able to push her off her mark, nor were they able to put an effect screen on her on the way to the Gold.
Very impressive!!!! Hopefully Mikayla Williams was convinced that UCONN should be in her future, with three years with AP in the other 4 spots as MW. I'm hoping AP will be as good as Tina Charles, and a Gold in U-18 3x3 is a good start...

Ayanna made all the other 3X3 U 18 basketball teams change
their offensive strategy! Wonderful blocks against Russia (see
early in the YouTube replay tape ), and watch any tape and see
the NO ONE challenges her effectively for Rebounds!
Good defense against Spain in the FINALS. Spain seemed
to have a plan for multiple screens and Team USA ( Ayanna and
everyone ) would do the automatic " switch" and, thus, the Spanish
player, rather than facing AYANNA , would find herself facing Janiah
Tyir Elise Barker!! Great Stuff. Looking forward to AYANNA and
Aaliyah Edwards as a duo on the hardcourt! ( need to wait a year,
I know, but a nice thought ).

My one disappointment from the 3x3 tournament was that we didn’t get to see Ayanna throw one down in a game. It sounded like the announcer was equally disappointed as he continued to mention the possibility. I am counting on Paige to see to it that we see numerous 2-handed slams once Ayanna makes it to Storrs.
