Love your analogy. It's been very quiet on campus. The only sounds we've heard the past few weeks are crickets. That should change once classes resume next Monday (27th), and the girls return to campus and the gym for workouts and pickup games. First night is only about 7 weeks away. The summer used to be my 2nd favorite time of the year with the warm weather and long days. Since I started following the UConn women, it's become my least favorite time of the year. May to September, five months of no basketball. Thank God for the WNBA and the Las Vegas Summer League. Five months of no news. Five months of anxiously waiting to find out which of the coveted recruits are going to commit to UConn. Last year it was Megan Walker and Christyn Williams, and we got 'em both. :) Five months of trying guess who the new starters are going to be, who's going to step up this year, and which program is going to present the biggest threat/obstacle en route to our ultimate goal of hoisting that championship trophy in April. How nice would it be if the Hartfort Courant beat reporter for the women would do a feature on each player between mid September and the first exhibition game in early November. Those pieces could bring us up to speed on what they worked on over the summer, what their goals are for the season, and what they think of their team and it's potential this year, and maybe share a fun fact about them we don't know. It would provide an opportunity for us to get to know them a little better. An interview with Geno would also be welcomed.
