She's a talented kid and played better than I expected last year. We have the depth to allow her as much time as she needs to get healthy. I'd rather have her at 100% for less time than 80 to 90% for more time.

Honestly, the most positive thing I have seen with Morgan was that little aquaphor skit she did with CD, Ice Brady, and shade. Because at least Morgan was trotting/jogging a little in that skit. 🤷‍♂️

I'm actually hoping Morgan redshirts this year. Geno has said numerous times that he's going with a core of 8-10 max. That means if Morgan comes back AND she makes the core 10, most likely Jana, Ice, or Allie will be pushed out. I like her game, but she's not "needed" this season. Take a medical redshirt, come back stronger than ever, and have 3 full years of 100% health left.

I was going to say something similar, but only if she can’t do full-contact practices within the next couple of weeks. If she’s not game-ready until after Thanksgiving, yeah, take the redshirt, work in practice, and absorb as much as possible from the coaches on the sidelines during games.

According to Auriemma, there’s “no new updates” on sophomore Morgan Cheli, who missed the entire preseason while working her way back from ankle surgery in February.
