Did the game start to change direction when ESPN did that Syracuse zone story from the floor? You know the one that asked "how can you score against this impenetrable zone?"

Funny that a coach praised for his defense won his only title with an elite scorer leading the charge. Overrated zone anyone?

I don't know if it's your imagination but JB will accuse ESPN of helping other teams because of that filming if Cuse goes on a losing streak!

IMO I have no idea how any of can be a cuse fan . they play fricken 23 zone. All those athletes JB can't teach man to man principles? Man to man is the best strategic defense, zones should be used sporadically. It's why his only ring came with a once in a generation talent

Hahah I noticed that too. Jimmy Dykes made it seem like breaking the zone was more difficult than finding the cure to cancer. If I remember correctly, Niels scored right in front of him as he stood on the baseline.

Much as I love to dump on the 'cuse, JB's one trick has worked out pretty well for him. It is a very active zone. I do think that they do it pretty well. Good on KO for being able to pick it apart so effectively.

I thought it was funny how the color guy's analyses went from "UConn's small guards can't see over the zone," to "Syracuse's guards can't play low enough to stop the speed of UConn's guards," as the game wore on.

Reminded me of fans who proclaim a player/team their favorite when they have a series of great games and then flip on them when they have poor games resulting in a loss.
