every day, every sportscenter, it's as if college basketball is all about 4 or 5 nineteen year old kids

they're good, no doubt, but there are a whole lot of other kids which deserve some press

I'm going to predict somebody besides the hype squad wins the national championship. It won't be UK or Dook or KU or Az

It's a joke........is there another player on Kansas? If you don't watch the game you would swear Wiggins does it ALL and no one else is stepping up for them........same with the others. Surprised we're not having updates on who takes the biggest crap from their favorite frosh!

I did not have TV for 6 months, now I do and I can not stomach watching ESPN. They hype everything like it is the greatest. I just want to know what is happening.

Been tired of those 4, it's so unfair to the many other kids that deserve some attention too. Let's see how many of those freshman make it to the final four before they leap to the NBA.

I'm happy with our freshman

Agree and let's see how many of them make an NBA All Star team too........my bet is not half!

We would not turn down any of them but ESPN likes to do this because it makes them money plain and simple. It's easier to highlight superstars to promote their lineups, it's nothing new. Parker is a very good and confident player for his age but it seems like he's gonna try to carry the whole load which maybe he has to try, but overall not good.

Yeah, it's pretty tiresome. Gordon, Parker and Wiggins all had fairly decent performances yesterday but hardly eye-popping yet this morning during Sportscenter we are treated to a statistical analysis of Parker v Gordon. How about highlighting the plays and players that actually determined the outcome.

Randle, Parker, Wiggins, Gordon . . . . not half? I'll take that bet.

You're on pal....let me know I'm all in....we're talking perennial all stars in the "star" mode of James, Wade, Pierce, Garnett etc etc......

+1. Espn has apparently decided on both the men's and women's side to highlight only certain players almost to the exclusion of everything else. It's boring and silly.

That said it was satisfying to watch duke lose and their shill DV shot down for at least a night.

A little bit.

But I'm a lot more tired of this board incessantly whining about it.

No whining just pointing out ridiculous facts.......suggestion to you would be don't read a thread which states it's about the "hype of the frosh 24/7" because I'm actually tired of people who say they're tired about reading stuff they don't have to.....that's just plain ignorant!

Not tired at all. It isn't hard to press the mute button. Very easy now that remotes have been invented. I've learned a long time ago that it's easy to tune out things I don't want or need. Well perhaps I still have some learning to do.

Sad thing is this process is the same thing that most organizations employ. Listen to the rhetoric of political parties, various religious leaders, product advertisements, social media and you'll see a pattern. Most of us learn and react in common ways. These various bodies have people who understand this process very well and utilize techniques to get us to react in a manner that benefits them.

The question is what's the best method to avoid succumbing to the process?

Think you're fairly spot on w/ all the comparisons except the Gordon/Dunleavy one. Don't see that one at all. Gordon *could* be a very poor man's Blake Griffin. Similar athleticism and rawness. Dunleavy is a 6-9 2g w/ ball skills. Randle will be a more athletic Randolph and I think will be the best pro of the four.

I hope we never go the road of the one and dones, it didn't work for us the one time we tried it.

I actually believe all of them could be pretty damn good in the NBA. Jabari is definitely going to be the best of the bunch. Looks like a more complete Melo. Wiggins can develop into a Tracy Mcgrady like player. Aaron Gordon is a more skilled Blake Griffin. Actually think Julius Randle is going to be the worst in the league out of the bunch.

Can't see the Blake Griffin comparison but I haven't seen him enough as of yet.......actually not much of a Griffin fan except his toughness so maybe Gordon will be better, I hope so!

Carmelo averaged 22.2 ppg, 10 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.6 spg on 45.3 % shooting, while leading his team to the NCAA championship.

Parker's stats look similar to better at this point (23 ppg, 8 rpg, 2 apg, 1.3 spg on 55% shooting) in the season, but let's see if that keeps up through the conference season...Anthony's stats include the BE, BET, and NCAAs, as well as two sub-par games against UConn :)

So you have 2 guys projected as NBA HOFs and I disagree with Wiggins and Gordon ones. Wiggins may not be Bron or Kobe, but he will be a multiple year all star and possibly all NBA and Gordon will be a star too.

And Marcus Smart is going to be a top 10 PG almost immediately. Huge, huge studs playing now, almost can't remember when this many top players were in same year in awhile.
