She is on the team but not playing. There has been a lot of info on her lately.

Gandy is doing fine according to Geno. She played in a game or 2 early on and has not seen the court since, other than practicing and warming up with the team. As she has only been playing basketball for a few years, she has a lot of work to do to be a college ready player. There has been speculation that UConn might try to redshirt her for this year.

Malou-Mamel arrived in Storrs this offseason as a project, a rare and raw 6-foot-5 center with an endless ceiling. But because of her lack of experience (she only began playing basketball at age 12), she’s not quite at the UConn standard just yet.​
