It would be great if Feuerbach is a shutdown defender, Iowa could certainly use one. If not, maybe Iowa can pick up one from the portal. I thought Caitlin’s defense improved a lot over the season.

Does anyone know anything about Kylie's game?

If she played for Iowa State, she’s probably not a shutdown defender.

There's a lot of speculation on the Cyclone Fanatic site for Iowa State fans. Finger pointing at the coach from some there.
Reading the linked articles until I ran out of free ones it looks as if she was a starter until Joens took her place. A senior is transferring as well to attend grad school and play for Indiana.

Feuerbach and Clark played together in AAU for All Iowa Attack (even though Feuerbach is from Illinois). Multiple other players on the current Iowa roster were also on that team. Bluder rarely takes transfers, so that pre-existing chemistry certainly played a role in Feuerbach transferring. But it's surprising on the outside because Feuerbach's family has deep ties to ISU and ISU athletics. From what I know about Feuerbach's time at ISU, she often had the role of guarding the opposing team's best guard. Her athleticism and length at the wing will be welcomed at Iowa. It will be interesting to see how playing time is distributed between Iowa's returning guards/wings, the incoming freshmen, and now Feuerbach as a transfer.

That could be part of it, but I was referring to the comments on their WBB forum from fans. Got the impression fans were unhappy and some were pointing the finger at the HC in how he handles the team.

I'm happy about this on two fronts: as an Iowa fan we're getting a player who started 24/28 games for a team that's preseason top 20 for next year...not exactly chopped liver. Our high school has a player at ISU who missed most of last year due to a stress fracture (Maggie Espenmiller-McGraw) who will now get more minutes. She played a lot the previous year as a true freshman.

For those that want to hear from the horse's mouth, here's the link from Cyclone Fanatic: Kylie Feuerbach in transfer portal. Interesting to see how link evolved; initially typical good luck to her, she wasn't that great type of stuff. After transfer to Iowa was revealed, things got uglier.

Here's the latest from the Des Moines Register: Former Iowa State starter Kylie Feuerbach explains why she's headed to Iowa

Can't tell until games begin next year, but seems as if Kylie has the athleticism to help Iowa on the defensive side. Lots of ISU posters lukewarm about her offensive abilities, but sounds like her role was limited on that end of the court. In the games she played >30 minutes, she seemed to have better offensive stats. Any help Iowa can get by increasing defense/athletic talent will be welcomed.

Ashley Joens is the All-American at Iowa State. Her younger sister, Aubrey, is there now and did start a few games. Kylie was back as a starter at the end of the season. Aubrey Joens can shoot, but much more slender physique than her sister so struggles when physicality is an issue.
