I've been watching this game and she's been pressing a bit. She's made some good plays but hasn't been scintillating as in each of the previous games.

Clark just was called for a foul on a 3-point shooter with less than a second remaining in the 3rd quarter. It's just one of those games where everything seems to go one team's way.

Joens has been the scintillating one in this game. She had 30 points on very efficient shooting through just 30 minutes of play.

Iowa now making this a game all of a sudden. Two long 3s by Clark have cut the lead to 5 with just over 5:00 to play. Iowa State's offense has finally cooled off.

Clark now at 29 points (a quiet night for her, believe it or not). Joens is still at 30.

It's not a media break. Iowa made a run and ISU called the TO with 5:06 to play.

Iowa completed an 18-0 run to tie the game at 75 -- and then ISU's 7-minute scoreless drought just ended with a banked-in 3 from Joens as the shot clock expired.

And Iowa takes its first lead of the game, 79-78, on a Clark drive to the bucket with under 1:30 to play.

Fantastic comeback by Iowa, should be setting up an exciting finish.

Joens gave ISU the lead back on free throws after she was fouled on an O-board putback.

And then Clark hits a step-back 3 to put Iowa back up by 2. ISU calls its last timeout with 20 seconds to play, with a chance to tie or win.

This was game of the season so far, hands down.

Iowa State led 75-58 with 9 minutes to play, but then went scoreless for nearly 7 minutes. Iowa ends the game on a 24-5 run.

Caitlin Clark finishes with 34 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals ... and 7 turnovers. But she was totally the star of the game, hitting consecutive long 3s to close the gap from 11 to 5 (here's the first of those two 3s):



... and then hitting a ridiculous step-back for the go-ahead bucket (they haven't posted the clip yet).

Iowa State shot lights out for 31 minutes and then went ice cold the rest of the way. Joens finishes with 35 and 13.

If Bueckers is in fact the best of the class, UConn fans are in for a serious treat. Clark and Van Lith are two of the most impressive freshmen I've ever seen, especially considering we're just 2 weeks into the freakin' season. SMDH

Inexplicably, Iowa isn't even getting votes in the AP poll yet. Iowa State just exited and stands at #27.

Speaking as a UConn fan, I really don't care that much about the individual honors. If Bueckers' stats aren't as gaudy because she's on a better team, I can live with that tradeoff.
