Iowa climbed six spots to No. 14

Iowa is well coached, disciplined and Cook is a stud. There is no shame in losing to Iowa, although UConn looked bad doing it.

Nevertheless, at 5-1 I am happy with the team's progress thus far.

We just do not play like a veteran team just yet. New coach, first year, new systems. We are just not cohesive yet, but we were executing better this past game against New Hampshire. We're getting there. Iowa beat us soundly because they were decisively the better team.

Maybe we'll play them in March.

Not a bad loss, and not a game I expected to win at that point, but we played very badly. We’ve rebounded well from it though.
I don't know if you watched them vs Oregon that 1st night at MSG but many fans who did as well as myself felt UConn would play them competitively with a good chance to win.

Their strengths (size, shooters, rebounding and poise under pressure) match up well against us. They are a well-coached veteran team. You, and others, are really underrating Iowa.

Fran McCaffery is a hell of a coach. Something about Irish men translates well into teaching kids to put a ball into a basket.

Last year Iowa fans wanted him gone. Poor defense and the inability to recruit any speed/athleticism. Outside of Cook. The season is young. Lets see if Iowa finishes the season ranked. I think they will hit a skid at some point by losing 3 in a row.

Do we get into the top 25 with a win over Arizona?
I hate to say the team needed a loss like this early in the season, but I think it taught them a lot about themselves. This is a completely different team than the one we saw a year ago. I'm stoked to watch them progress as the season goes along.

It's possible, but not particularly likely, unless they win big.
Aside from ranked teams, these are the teams that have more votes than us.

Arizona State 156, Clemson 135, Furman 72, Creighton 65, LSU 41, Indiana 35, UCLA 30, Iowa State 22, St. John's 19, Minnesota 17, Miami 10, Syracuse 8, TCU 8, Nebraska 6, Arkansas 6

They're in one person's poll, at 22. A 2-0 week would put them higher in his, but still they'd need to climb over a lot of teams. Arizona doesn't even receive votes.

As much as I love to see the Oranges lose, a Cuse win at Ohio State tomorrow would be good for UConn.
If we're either clearly in or clearly out of the tournament, this doesn't matter too much, and you can hope they lose.

Since it seems like we're probably going to be bubbly...yeah, we have to pull for 'Cuse.
