Somewhat down the line, I fully expect U.S. National Team Coach Cheryl Reeve to have both of themon the court playing for the US of A. As for now, they'll both do what they have to for their respective teams.

I think Indiana takes this, in part becaue they also have Grace Berger, who didn't measure up to Walz's standards in middle school (I guess) and headed northwards up Rte. 31. And the Maine Nor'ester, MacKenzie Holmes, who will look a bit like the former Iowa MVP, Megan Gustafsson.

Wait what-Cheryl Reeve? I thought Dawn Staley was National Coach AND I thought the committee picked the team? Cheryl may be filling in during the college season but gosh no, I don't want her as National Coach.

The thing that still confuses/concerns me is that the best coaches really are in the NCAA ranks and while Reeve may be good, I am not sold on any WNBA HC given the money, lack of practice and development in a 12 team league.

That said, I am looking forward to seeing the play by play via the stats link our fine colleague above has provided.

Well, Ind leads Iowa 17-15 after Q1. Clark 3-6 (1-2) with 8pts. (1rb , 0 assists, 0 TO)

Both teams zip the ball around the perimeter time and time again until they see a cutter or the post gets a seal.
Gulbe and, especially Holmes are the beneficiaries for Indiana and Iowa finds their posts.

IU trying prevent Clark from getting the ball. Period. If she does get the ball, she's going to go. Oh my gosh, she closes out the half and nails a 35-something-footer that has the commentator yelling. She has 19 at half and Iowa has a 43-38 lead.

Clark reminds me of Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. Some of the shots she make are incredible. If I was voting she would be my FOY pick.

You know, I think maybe Clark hit a bit of a wall, and then got her second wind and has been on an absolute tear down the stretch.

Clark 4-4 (2-2 from 3) in 2Q. She is very very good. She may just edge Paige, Evans out if she wins this game.

Clark 7-10 overall and 3-4 behind the arc. Her shooting% have been steadily climbing.

Clarke is just a matchup problem all over the floor with her size, her shooting ability and her handle. You have to play her tight on the perimeter and make her drive. The problem there is her court vision is so good. Unlike Paige she hasn't shown tired legs syndrome as the season has gone on.

No one else on the floor is on Clark's level (not a lot who are), but back at the human level, Berger has steadily improved year by year. Love the way Holmes goes left or right with equal aplomb.
