In fact the only teams in the last 12 years who weren't top 3 in the country in team FG% and still won a championship were South Carolina in 2017 and Texas A&M in 2012, both shooting 47.5% or less. Maybe they could have won it this year with their 47% shooting, but the team that has usually won it all has shot 50% like ND, Baylor, & UConn often did when they won it all and Oregon (50.9%) & Baylor (50.1%) also did this year.
