They were coming down from a high having convincingly beaten SC; they were beaten up and tired from playing extended minutes on a bench less team; the player who started the past 100 consecutive wins was not available; they were missing gimmes against a team inspired by a rare opportunity at home and playing over its head; above all, they are mortal. AND they won anyway.
Geno said that the team is not as good as they thought they were. That's motivational blather. This group of young women has risen to every occasion, beaten everyone in front of them and been gracious in the process. They say and do all the right things. A finer group would be difficult to find.
