It's from a Seton Hall site, so it'll be slanted in their favor. Here's an interesting quote from his dad:

"We're not committing [early] because I want to see what Seton Hall does next year. I'm highly interested in my son staying home. We're not going to commit early. We're going to wait and see what our local team Seton Hall is about. There's no reason Seton Hall has to play the first night of the Big East Tournament."

"We're going to wait for the season. I really have to see Seton Hall and I'm sincere about that. As his dad and as far as my son is concerned, I'm going to wait and I'm going to see what's going on. I'm not necessarily looking at number of wins but I'm looking at discipline and development. I know the style but I want to see how things work out."

my guess is he stays local and goes to one of the bum nyc/nj programs, Seton Hall, Rutgers, or St Johns.

Since 1996 (coincidently the year Isaiah was born), Seton Hall has played on the first day of the Big East Tournament every year but once. That one year (2007) they didn't play on the first day, they didn't make the Big East Tournament.
Perhaps there is a reason?

You can't blame a kid for staying close so his family can go to games.

A bottom feeding animal. It survives by lurking on the bottom of rivers waiting for bigger animals to die then feeding on their corpses.

I don't think we would take both Isaiah and Prince, the point is mute. Price IMO has a bigger upside and size for a SG. I'm okay with Isaiah committing somewhere else. Good look to the young man.

Dads of top college basketball players too often act like it's their future that's being discussed rather than their kid's.

I don't think anyone is interested in Isaiah Briscoe's dad playing basketball for them.

I understand what you're saying, but parents often do care about, you know... seeing their kids with some frequency when they're in college. I am not sure your analogy is fair. Granted, a lot of parents are too overbearing, but I don't think wanting your kid around is necessarily a bad thing.

Take as much talent as you can get. If you think the guy you have is the best at his position then you wouldn't be recruiting another guy. How many times do you hear that a guy is a shooter when he's really a slasher, or a pass first when he's really a shoot first. Recruiting services are horrible, youtube is deceiving and i'm drunk at work at 12:20pm.

No of course not, if I were a parent I'd absolutely want my kid to play close to home if at all possible. And I'd talk with him about it privately and see how he feels about it.

Those quotes in the OP make his dad look like he's completely hijacked the process.

It's not like we have that many spots available.

Translation: "He's not going to commit to Seton Hall now because, depending on how next year goes, Kevin Willard may or may not be the coach by the time he enrolls."

He used "I" or "I'm" 10 times in that quote. "We" or "We're" 4 times.

He used "Isaiah" 0 times.

Makes you wonder if Isaiah is deciding where he goes to college, or if his dad is making that decision.

Now that UConn, Saracuse, Louisville, and Pitt are no longer around, he does have a point about Seton Hall not playing on the first day.

Seton Hall is becoming a place for NYC kids to play--over St. John's, which is probably concerning to people in Queens.

ding ding ding. Seems like this will be one of those father/coach situations where the father doesn't think the coaching staff if maximizing his sons talent or giving him the ball enough, the coach thinks the father is being to overbearing, they stop talking to each other, The son ends up transferring. I can see it now.
