Good story but still shake my head at the oft-repeated "when Pasqualoni hired Weist" line as if Warde had zero to do with bringing in a new OC and left everything -- looking at resumes, interviewing & vetting candidates and making the final pick - up to P. P hired TJ like Bill Stewart hired Holgorsen (btw that WVU arrangement seems to be blowing up)

I know, huh? Weist even had experience of a head coach leaving during a season last year at Cincinnati. The writing is all over the friggin' wall: this was Warde's hire, not PP's. PP fought for GDL to stay on his staff and Warde conceded but brought in Weist to "call the plays". Now, whether or not the team actually ran the plays that he called is another question for debate.

A track record of success except for those who want to hang PP/GDL legacy around his neck.

Going take a wild guess the luminaries of the CT HS FB coaches aren't going to be rooting for TJ to succeed. That, Cousin Vinny I., is "classless" defined.

Is there a specific reason you intend to turn this thread toxic?

Now what what is THAT supposed to mean? Dish observed some people "want to hang P/GDL around his neck" That reminded me all these P cronies (like Iovino) probaby aren't rooting for TJ to succeed, just like they didn't want Edsall to. You call it toxic. That, sadly, is the "toxic" reality at play in this state. Free speech, remember? Yikes

Whatever... I should have tagged my comment to your first post. It's a 29 paragraph article about our new IHC that was overwhelmingly positive and you pick out six words to bang home a pet peeve of yours ("when he was hired by Pasqualoni"). What difference does it make in the scheme of things now and here in this specific thread.

Gets frustrating when even positive things get spun sideways... (Sorry - used my free speech when I should have walked away).

At least you got the pet peeve (lazy journalism) part right. The Horde are in denial or can't wrap their arms around the fact Warde pulled a big-time move in January and brought in a coach-in-waiting right under their noses. Now that the move has been executed quicker than even Warde probably would have liked, it seems like the full context of TJs initial arrival in Storrs would be worth a review. But instead we get "P hired TJ" and this gem from the AP that takes lazy journalism to a whole nother level.

"Pasqualoni relieved long-time friend George DeLeone of his duties as offensive coordinator, replacing him with T.J. Weist".

Ha!. . . . Whatever, glad TJ is getting his shot -- four games earlier would have been nicer, but like you said, he needs the W's now. Off to a good start re-engerizing things. Gotta figure six Ws (bowl) gets him the gig next year.

Agreed if not for Warde, coach Weist wouldn't have been hired as we know FHCPP thought DeLeone walked on water.
