Posters point out team defense, offensive efficiency, etc So many of our other individual stats also scream TEAM
6 Different Leading Rebounders Reg Season & NCAA
Clingan 10x + 2x =12x with 16 RB high vs Marquette BE Final
Johnson 1x vs Texas
Castle 3x +1x = 4x
Newton 13x + 0x = 13x also w/ 16 RB high vs Nova
Spencer 3x + 3x = 6x Lead team rebounding Elite 8, Semi, Final with 12,8,8 = his will to win (7,6,6 in his reg season game highs)
Karaban 4x + 0x = 4x
6 Different Leading Scorers Reg Season & NCAA (All 5 starters with multiple 20pt games)
Clingan 4x + 2x = 6x with a high of 29 pts vs New Hampshire
Johnson 1x 16pts vs St John's Dec 23rd in first game after Seton Hall Clingan injury
Castle 2x + 1x = 3x Prov/Hall/& Bama with 21pt high
Newton 10x +2x = 12x w/31 pt high vs Kansas
Spencer 8x + 1x = 9x w/ 25 pt high
Karaban 9x + 0x = 9x w/ 26 point high
In the 2 major categories of individual play, in 40 games there was a huge mix of guys showing up, in contrast to a team like Purdue depending on Eddy, Illinois on Shannon, or Northwestern on Bouie. What a roster construction advantage for opposing coaches to deal with. (Obviously Clingan might have been the high rebounder or scorer in other games he missed, but the point doesn't change)
